About Contest
Spice Surtarang is a National Singing Talent Hunt organised by the Sangam Kala Group (SKG). The Group is aprominent non-commercial registered cultural group that provides a platform to identify and promote budding singing talent in India. Sangam Kala Group (SKG) has been conducting this Singing Talent Hunt for more than 30 years now.
Sangam Kala Group has empanelled renowned Music Directors and Composers from the world of music including radio, television and films as part of the panel of judges to select the best singing talent. SKG also offers scholarships to educate promising voices in light music. Some of the past participants who are now leading playback singers are Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal. Other well-known winners of this contest in the past includes Reality Music Show participants, such as Harshit, Vineet, Toshi, Ishmeet, Aakriti Kakkar, Aabhas, etc.
Spice Digital had sponsored this event in year 2009 and the grand finale was held at Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi. Spice Digital are the main event sponsors this year as well and have introduced the concept of nation wide Mobile Auditions for the first time in India. This will provide immense reach to people even in far flung areas across the country to participate in the contest and showcase their talent.

- Selects best 18 singers selected to perform in the finals.
